Emily in Paris is a new comedy series on Netflix created by Darren Star who is best known for creating the television series Sex and the City and Beverly Hills 90210. The story centered on Chicago marketing executive Emily played by Lily Collins as she lived her new life in Paris. She was sent there by her boss to work with the boutique French luxury firm that Emily’s company has acquired.
Emily's new co-workers doesn't like her since her work approach is very American and she didn't even speak French. She's even given a name by her co-workers, they call her “la plouc” (the hick). Good thing not everyone has a bad impression of her, Gabriel her neighbor likes her. Unfortunately, Emily has a boyfriend in Chicago, who wants her to have cybersex with her that leads Emily’s vibrator to take out the power in the whole neighborhood which quite ridiculous. She also found a friend in Mindy a Chinese ex-pat working in Paris as a nanny.
Overall, the new TV show is watchable.
